Concerns for some some local flying sites will be discussed and reviewed such as Mountainview, Grey Mountain, Haeckel Hill, Mount Sima, and Dawson City. We will review basic radio and communication protocols, and cover CARS (Canadian Air Regulations) sections 601 − Airspace Structure, Classification And Use; 602 − Operating And Flight Rules, 605 − Aircraft Requirements, as well as basic map reading and plotting. Airspace maps for Whitehorse and Ottawa area will be available as well as iPads loaded with ForeFlight Airspace maps. Participants will also have the chance to ask questions or raise concerns about local flying sites during the course. Pilots (including aircraft pilots) who already have their airspace rating are welcome to attend for $50 so long as you are willing to assist participants with map reading etc and participate in discussions.
